It's Bridal Shower Brunch Time! #HappilyEverHernandez

I cannot believe that my sis in law Rachel is going to be getting married to the love of her life in just a few short months!  In order to get this beautiful bride ready for her day, we had to throw a Great Gatsby themed shower that had all of her favorite things....Brunch, champagne, glitter, good food, family and friends!  Please read on ahead to see all the personal touches this shower had for her this stylish bride!

One of my favorite pictures of Rachel & I at her brother's (my brother in law) wedding to Amanda

Rachel's shower was so beautiful and I am so proud of how it turned out.  Her family and friends grouped together and set it all up, so I cannot take credit! TEAMWORK!  We had to set the tone for this lovely affair with beautiful invitations.  We searched forever but ultimately fell in love with these Great Gatsby themed invites form Etsy.  I purchased these metallic envelopes off Amazon and we were good to go! The end cost was about $2 a piece, what a bargain!  I probably could've spent about $50 cheaper if I printed them myself, but I was in a super hurry!

I loved how it looked like real glitter!

I ordered mini cards from vista print and added Rachel & Ben's registry details and information on their wedding website!  I got 100 cards for about $20 and they gave a very classy touch!  There were tons of extras so we will use them for other events!  Check out those cute jumbo confetti pieces! Another win for Etsy for $3.70!

We purchased the flowers from Costco the day before (are these roses not amazing? $16.99 for 2 dozen!) and I arranged them with beautiful green glasses and vases that we found at a local antique shop.  We went to several antique shops about a year before looking for items for the wedding, and just decided to use this at the shower also! (Rachel, my MIL, and myself are definitely known as planners....we planned this part way ahead) I didn't really use "filler" flowers such as baby's breath, so we opted to use beautiful green moss one of the bridesmaids brought!  That completely saved the day.  It was a little messy but I absolutely loved how they turned out!  In high school I worked at Albertson's and I would help out in the floral department.  In addition I also always watched my Mom make arrangements so I am so thankful I inherited her skills as well!  For my wedding we purchased flowers from my favorite shop, Flower Market on 7th street in Fort Worth, and arranged our centerpieces ourselves.  They also have incredible wholesale prices and offer free classes!!  DFW brides check them out for sure!

The beautiful blushing bride holding all the flowers

I mean seriously these flowers!  Check out the table settings!  I purchased these pink napkins from Amazon and we used some doilies we had hanging around.  The coasters were super cute find that say "Save Water Drink Champagne".  It was kind of, well perfect.

The table runners are placemats that Rachel originally purchased for the wedding so we decided to use them for the shower!  These were only $1.49 at IKEA.  The rose gold and white stripe candles I found at World Market around Christmas time last year!  Brass is also making a come back people!!  All the candle sticks were purchased at multiple antique shops.

We had to have a beautiful backdrop for photos and instead of purchasing fans I decided to make my own in her colors! I purchased paper form Hobby Lobby (of course when card stock was 50% off).  With all the folding and gluing they were super time consuming but well worth it!  The funniest part about these fans is the bridesmaids trying to figure out how to get them on the wall.  (use lots and lots of masking tape)  Rachel kept these up for several days after the shower since they were so pretty!!

The gift table area displayed Rachel & Ben's engagement photos, Rachel's parents and grandparent's wedding photos, and the "shower games"  (check out my next blog post on the games we played and free templates)

You can't have brunch without a "Mimosa Bar".  We used antique coupe glasses to make it a little more festive, fresh fruit, 3 different kinds of orange juice!  There are those ikea placemats again next to our "champagne cooler" AKA the kitchen sink.

We of course had tea and lemonade for those who didn't care for any champagne.  I made yummy chicken salad and we had these huge gorgeous croissants and mini quiches from Costco.  We also had a huge assortment of meats & cheeses, crackers, and dips.

Ta dah!! The dessert table!  We of course used the antique green glass punch bowl for the fruit salad and everyone served it up in the cute little green punch glasses.  The french madeleine and palmier cookies are from Costco (love that place).  My mother in law made her famous tiramisu and it was amazing, she used poundcake instead of lady fingers.  Let's just say I am super picky and I loved it.  Maybe she will share her recipe!  Finally, the cupcakes are from the bride's favorite cupcake shop in Dallas, Trailer Cakes.  They have cute little names and they of course taste delicious.  My favorite is the "RV"....haha get it RV, trailer cakes.  :)   The black cocktail napkins with cheers I bought here on Etsy and were perfect with the glitter flatware we used.  (officially addicted to Amazon Prime)

Some of the ladies playing the games!  Everyone was super excited to see who won and of course they wanted one of these amazing candles by Voluspa.  They are my absolute favorite luxury candles.

You can purchase these at Nordstroms or Candledelirium.com

All the bridesmaids!! My MIL is an honorary bridesmaid, how cute!

My MIL, the bride, Great Aunt Lottie, and our sister in law Amanda

The beautiful bride, Remy, and me

Beautiful Ganceres women
(Rachel made the necklace my MIL is wearing from freshwater pearls and an antique broach)

Remy stole the show!

The last sister is getting married!  FINALLY

She loves ampersands!

Seriously, why am I crying about the card I wrote her ??

She loved her air compressor!

A friend of mine told me about this "Marriage Survival Kit" and so I had to make one.

To go along with the theme of champagne we sent our guests off with mini bottles of Cook's Spumante champagne that we tied black and white paper straws on with gold ribbon.
What an amazing shower full of personal touches. I hope that Rachel will always remember this day and know how excited we are for her and her marriage.  Marriage is not about showers, gifts, and weddings but it sure was fun!  We know that God will bless this union...now hurry up and make me an Aunty... k, thanks.

This weekend we are going to my inlaw's house in Copperas Cove, Texas to prep for the champagne raspberry jam for the wedding favors.  I guess you could say it is a tradition for all of us to come together as a family and make handmade gifts to had out at the Ganceres weddings.  For my wedding we did salsa and for Amanda's we did apple butter!

Then on Sunday I fly out to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate 3 years of marriage with my love and then the following weekend we will be in NOLA for Ben & Rachel's bachelor/ette weekend!  I will also be working on a little surprise, I will update all of you on in due time.  Just when I thought things were finally slowing down, I am only getting busier.  However I wouldn't have it any other way.  I can always sleep later, these kind of memories just cannot wait :)

Stay tuned to my next post on what is in the basket, shower games, and free downloads!
